Beautiful Kaaminee

"May you understand the silence of your love, before the dusk.   So that it blooms again in the next dawn."

Kaaminee lived in the dense Himalayan forest. Her hair waved till her knee and fair like the glimpse of start in the darkness.  She was the queen among the other creatures, all the other creatures in the forest lived in brotherhood. She loved the creatures a lot.  Being a queen among them, she was often found either near lake or brook.  Sometimes with animal on her lap, or else enjoying the open nature. Early morning birds wakes her up with their sweet voices. And before the dawn, the entire creature used to gather before going to rest. Kaaminee used to see them all and then, she used to go to her cave. This is how she lived. Despite being alone, still never felt loneliness.

On a certain day, a prince had gone out in the same forest for hunting. He was tired and frustrated by hunting because he couldn’t hunt anything.  His passion had brought him into the deep forest. After a while when he felt thirst. He reached near a small pond, beside which Kaaminee was sitting with a young deer on her lap. Prince had never seen such a beautiful lady. Even Kaaminee felt shy by looking at him because she also had never seen such young handsome man. Kaaminee asked, “Who are you and why have you come here?”  Prince replied her and also told the reason how he reached there. But after looking at Kaaminee he forgot his thirst. And finally, Kaaminee told her to go away because nobody kills each other there. Prince replied with love in his eyes that he wasn’t feeling to hunt anymore. And unsuccessful long journey of hunting bored him. 

Evening began to approach the birds and other creature began to gather.  The final ray of sunlight was reflecting on the pond and leaves of the forest. There was shade type darkness all around. Kaaminee started meeting with her friends. There was sweet singing of the birds as they departed from Kaaminee. Prince was delighted to see the scenario. His soul was enthralled with joy.  And Kaaminee departs to her caves. Prince forgot his hunger and thirst. He spent the night and woke up the next morning.

Next morning it was difficult for prince to leave. He needs to go but he has fallen in love with Kaaminee. With courage in his heart before he departed. He asked,” Will you come with me to my kingdom” Kaaminee agreed but wanted to ensure that whether there would be similar environment. Prince assured her for all her needs and happiness. All her friends gave her farewell before she was leaving. Tears began to roll from her eyes like pearls on the ground.

In the palace all were happy to see prince with Kaaminee. Prince made every effort to keep her happy. Kaaminee was happy and she had forgotten her past life. Despite of all her happiness, one certain day as she was in the room alone. She felt odd and empty. She was feeling as if her friends and forest is calling her back. Kaaminee’s health worsened day by day. As she felt that her time is near. She wanted to tell something to prince. Prince hurried to Kaaminee, and she requested him never to go for hunting.  And her second wish was to bury her on the hill top from where she was brought.  Just after saying this to prince she passed away. Entire palace wept for her and there was emptiness in the palace. Prince fulfilled her wishes. After a month a plant grew up from her burial point. It was seen from the palace. That had beautiful flowers bloomed on it. All began to call the flower “Kaaminee” in remembrance of their queen.
