Separation for 60 years
My gift to you is my love given from deep within my heart. It is the best I have to offer, and it’s yours until death do us apart.
It had only been three days when Anna Kozlov bid her husband
Boris adieu. He had to go off to fight in the Red Army and she would await his
return. During his absence from home, Stalin exiled Anna and her family to
Siberia. And Anna couldn’t even leave word for her husband. Boris spent years
looking for her. The two shared a hometown, but Anna was barred from visiting
it. So the two completely lost contact.
Anna was so depressed that she seriously committed suicide.
But, fortunately it didn’t take her life. Later her mother destroyed all
mementos of Boris and Anna’s life together. She eventually remarried. Even
Boris did the same.
Years passed, and both had lost their spouses. And then, 60
years later Boris and Anna had wished something miraculous to happen. Anna at
last managed to visit their shared hometown of Borovlyanka, where she saw an
elderly man in the distance. It was Boris, who had come to the village to pay
his respect at his parent burial site. And when he noticed Anna, he ran up to
her. It was really after long time they
were meeting each other. They had a second wedding and lived happily ever
after.
